POSITION SUMMARY:
The clinical supervisor will work directly with the treatment director in overseeing and supervising operations in overseeing and supervising the daily operations, staff, and services of the substance abuse program. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality treatment and care for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The supervisor will lead a multidisciplinary team, facilitate program development and improvement, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and effective environment for both staff and clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Supervision:
Oversee the daily operations of the substance abuse treatment program.
Ensure services are delivered in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
Review and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and program interventions.
Collaborate with other service providers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Staff Supervision and Development:
Supervise a team of counselors, therapists, and other clinical staff.
Providing clinical supervision to internship within licensure domain.
Provide regular training and professional development opportunities for staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback.
Assist with recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
Ensure staff adherence to ethical, professional, and safety standards.
Client Care and Support:
Ensure that clients receive individualized treatment plans tailored to their needs.
Monitor and support clients’ progress in the program.
Facilitate group sessions, individual counseling, and support groups as needed.
Provide crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing acute distress.
In-depth knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities, therapeutic techniques, and recovery processes.
Compliance and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in accordance with legal, regulatory, and program standards.
Ensure adherence to all confidentiality guidelines, including HIPAA regulations.
Prepare and submit reports related to program performance, client progress, and staffing as required.
Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and best practices related to substance abuse treatment.
Program Development and Quality Assurance:
Assist program director in evaluating and enhancing program quality, outcomes, and efficiency.
Identify gaps and implement strategies to improve client outcomes and overall program effectiveness.
Monitor service delivery to ensure it meets the needs of diverse populations.
Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
Collaboration and Community Outreach:
Foster collaborative relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and law enforcement.
Participate in outreach efforts to raise awareness of the program and its services.
Assist in the coordination of referral sources and aftercare services for clients.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
Assist in managing the program budget and ensuring efficient use of resources.
Identify opportunities for funding and program expansion and assist with grant writing or funding applications as needed.
KNOWLEDGE:
Leadership: Must have strong leadership skills to develop and implement strategic program vision, ensure the program aligns with organizational goals, best practices, and values.
Communication: excellent communication skills and eagerness to work on a multidisciplinary team
Team Management and Development: Hire, train, and supervise clinical and administrative staff. Promoting professional development and continuing education opportunities.
Performance Monitoring and Quality Improvement: Conduct regular evaluations of program effectiveness and collaborate around improvement initiatives.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Mental health license (LICSW, LMFT, LPCC etc.).
3-5 years of experience in a clinical setting.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience or leadership role.
Substance abuse counseling experience preferred.
Understanding of federal and state regulations governing substance abuse programs.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to pass a NetStudy 2.0 Background check
Proof of valid Driver’s license and vehicle insurance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks essential to job duties. These include, but are not limited to:
Lifting: Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25-50 pounds on a regular basis.
Bending & Stooping: Frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping may be required to access materials, equipment, or perform job-related tasks.
Sitting: Prolonged periods of sitting may be necessary, depending on the nature of work.
Walking & Standing: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including navigating various work environments.
Reaching & Stretching: Occasional reaching overhead or in awkward positions to retrieve or handle materials.
General Mobility: Adequate physical ability to move freely within the workspace and perform assigned duties safely and efficiently.
